Sneak Peek: Southern Sweets

February 23, 2017

Although we have some great regional snacks in this country, the South tends to take snacking and flavors to the next level. What defines “southern flavor”? Most simply put, it’s using ingredients in their purest form and one of the best qualities of Southern cooking in the ability to use basic ingredients in an entire arsenal of foods.  Southern foods and flavors embody comfort and home-cooking, usually tied to memories or a particular emotional connection.

Common Southern snacks include MoonPies, taffy, boiled peanuts, pimento cheese, cheese straws and Goo Goo Clusters. Sweet nuts have always had a place in Southern snacking too, with praline being especially popular. Created by a French diplomat in the 17th century, it’s a sweet snack that has endured the test of time.

Coming this May, we will be launching our Southern Sweets SUR Bags. Packaged in our “standup resealable bags”, these treats are ideal for grab-n-go snacking.

Flavors include:

Praline Pecans – A Southern classic, our praline pecans are candied with sugar and butter for a crispy treat you can’t resist.

Praline Nut Mix – Praline Nut Mix is a sweet and savory mix of cashews, praline pecans and our famous butter toffee peanuts.

Butter Toffee Peanuts – Always a crowd favorite, our butter toffee peanuts start with fresh peanuts that are then coated with sweet butter toffee.

If you haven’t already, SIGN UP for our email list to be the first notified when the line is available in May for orders.
