Healthy Salad Toppings

May 2, 2017

May is National Salad Month which seems fitting since summer is right around the corner. It can be difficult to not get bored with the same old salad every day. This is when salad toppings become all important, but the key is choosing healthy toppings to include with your salad.  A lot of our products make for great salad toppings. Some of our favorites include:

Dried Fruit

Dried fruit can add a bit of sweetness, vital nutrients and texture to your salad. Dried fruits like cranberries and blueberries can be used to top a variety of different salads and they pair well with healthy olive oil or balsamic vinaigrette.
Favorites: Figs, Apricots, Cranberries, Raisins, Strawberries

Nuts

Nuts can be used to add some crunch and extra health benefits to your salad. They’re always a better choice over croutons.
Favorites: Almonds, Walnuts, Pistachios, Pecans, Pine Nuts

Seeds

Like nuts, seeds offer beneficial nutrients, and adding them to your salad can add some extra flavor and texture.
Favorites: Sunflower Seeds, Pumpkin Seeds, Sesame Seeds

Snack Mixes

If you really want to add a burst of flavor to your salad, consider one of our snack mixes. You can choose more traditional trail mixes or go all out with a spicy mix.
Favorites: Healthy Trails Mix, College Crunch, Convention Mix, Wild about Wasabi
