The average peanut farm is 100 acres and there are enough peanuts in one acre to make 30,000 peanut butter sandwiches.

Peanuts contribute more than $4 billion to the USA economy each year.

The average American consumes more than six pounds of peanuts and peanut butter products each year.

In the United States, ten states grow 99% of the U. S. peanut crop: Georgia (which grows about 42% of all U. S. peanuts), followed by Texas, Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Mississippi, Virginia, Oklahoma and New Mexico.

Former presidents Jimmy Carter and Thomas Jefferson had peanut farms.

On average, an American kid will eat roughly 1,500 PB&J sandwiches by the time they graduate high school.

The world’s largest reported peanut was four inches long. It was grown in North Carolina by Mr. Earl Adkins.

The U.S. is the third largest producer of peanuts; China and India are the first and second largest producers.
